The hills of Saddleworth in the West Riding of Yorkshire have long lent themselves to the joy and excitement of motoring, and the knowledge that there were many lovely old cars gathering dust in the nooks and crannies of this lovely part of England was the incentive for launching a club that we can all enjoy - with or without an old classic - just the enthusiasm for these fine old motors will suffice to become a member (See Newsletter 1). Since we inaugurated in April 2010 we have brought together many like-minded individuals who come along and meet on the third Wednesday of each month. Whilst all the models mentioned in the original ditty I dreamt up: Alvis, Mercedes, Hillman or Rover
have not been entirely represented by our current membership, we have more than half, and as we continue to attract new enthusiasts month on month I can well envisage we will eventually have a full house.
Please explore our website and feel free to come along to one of our meetings or events and meet some fine folk who give freely of their time to help enjoy the camaraderie of those who appreciate our motoring heritage. To join SCARCE please e-mail our Secretary Martin Tony Littlewood (Chairman) |
